Bombardier Transportation offers a full range of rail vehicles for urban and mainline operation as well as modernization of rolling stock and operations and maintenance services. For our Headquarters in Berlin, we are currently looking to recruit a: Implementation Engineer (m/f) Bombardier is responsible for the systems engineering, integration and delivery of telecommunication-based systems and applications for public rail transportation. The position will include responsibilities for the implementation of one or more of the following telecommunication-based subsystems: Radio systems for use in surface and underground mobile applications Fiber optic communication networks Telephone systems (analog, digital, VOIP) Public Address Passenger Information Systems (display technologies) CCTV and Video Management Systems Networks and switch configurations The Implementation Engineer (IE) shall have experience in integrating and implementing one or more of the referenced technologies into a complete system, in both legacy and new-build environments. The candidate will work in a core team environment and be expected to provide the expertise, customer-facing skills, and troubleshooting capabilities to deploy and implement telecommunication-based system to support public transportation systems. Qualifications Qualifications Education and Experience: Bachelors degree in Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent work experience); an advanced degree and/or advanced industry certifications are a plus. Excellent Analytical and Troubleshooting experience. Requires hands-on and proven experience in deploying (design, test, and turn-up ) voice, video, and data over a shared telecommunications network (ATM, IP/MPLS, SDH/SONET, OTN, etc.) Requires at least 7+ years of network/systems engineering experience in design and implementing network-based solutions into different industries, to include the public transportation industry: Incumbent must have hands-on experience of networking protocols to include: TCP/IP, UDP, SNMP, FTP, TELNET, OSPF, RIP, 802.1p, 802.1q, SIP, Spanning Tree Protocol(STP), RSTP, VPN Incumbent must have hands-on experience with network sniffers (e.g. SnifferPro), optical testers(e.g. Firebird, OmniBert), and network management system(NMS) software(e.g. HP Openview, NetCool, etc.) Incumbent must have hands-on experience implementing digital video systems to include (Digital Video Management Systems(DVMS), Digital Video Recording Systems(DVRs), Network Video Recording Systems(NVR), Video Encoders/Decoders, and Storage Area Networks(SANs) Incumbent must have hands-on experience with the WinTel environment (Windows XP, 7, SQL Server) Incumbent must have hands-on experience with digital Telephony such as VoIP Incumbent must have hands-on experience in wireless technologies and the use of these to transport voice, video and data (WiFi(802.11a,b,g,n), WiMAX, etc.) Incumbent must have working knowledge in network security firewalls and techniques. Formal training with major networking vendors desirable: e.g. Cisco, Alcatel, etc. Formal training with digital video management suppliers desirable Experience in Passenger Information Systems deployments preferred Experience in TETRA, GSM-R based applications and deployments preferred Experience in mobile wireless application deployments (inclusive of video) preferred
