For our Locomotive Business Unit for the sites Zurich/Switzerland or Mannheim/Germany, we are currently looking for experienced:



System Engineers (m/f)



As a System Engineer you will be responsible for the entire systems design and integration for our locomotives (e.g. propulsion systems, auxiliary systems, brakes systems, etc.).



Tasks:

• Define and develop creative and innovative technical solutions to fulfill both internal and external customer requirements as well as for safety and homologation authorities
• Support bids by analysing the correct technical solutions for applications and platform products
• Liaise with homologation and safety engineers during product conceptualization and validation to ensure customers and authorities acceptance
• In charge of the overall specific system design until testing, validation and documentation phases
• Actively support product introduction during the vehicle static and dynamic test campaign
• Responsible for the specific system requirements management and functional description
• Responsible for the specific system software requirements specifications and liaise with software engineers during the software development phases
• Liaise with production engineers in order to properly integrate technical System Solutions in Vehicles
• Support the operation team during product implementation and assembly phases
• Lead the procurement offices for suppliers evaluation and benchmark according to quality standards
• Lead suppliers during the systems development phases, as well as during type test and final inspection
• Discuss technical solutions with both management and suppliers and prepare strategic technical decisions


Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering (University/University of applied sciences)
• At least 3 years experience in engineering, ideally in the railway or a similar industry (in particular complex systems e.g. plant engineering and construction, shipbuilding, etc.)
• Technical leadership and creativity
• Goal-oriented, efficient and you like to take over responsibility
• Negotiation skills, such as a diplomatic but definite approach
• A team player to deal with complex topics within international teams on cross-country engineering sites
• Fluent English as well as a good written and spoken command of German is required to work in our international environment, other languages will be an added-value
• Some readiness for travelling is required
