Job Description
Description Serving a diversified customer base around the world, Bombardier Transportation is the global leader in the rail equipment manufacturing and servicing industry. Bombardier Transportation offers a full range of rail vehicles for urban and mainline operation as well as modernization of rolling stock and operations and maintenance services. In order to work on our diverse projects, we are currently looking to recruit an: Electrical Engineer M/F You work on detailed design development for the power supply and distribution (PS&D) system for transportation system (automated people mover, monorail, metro, tramway). This will involve: Specifying and coordinating with Bombardier PS&D suppliers, liaising with customer and interfacing with other sub-systems (signalling, vehicle, communication, etc). Support integrated reporting on progress, delay from sub-systems level to integration level. Support Lead Engineer upon providing all necessary data to interface/integration team for the PS&D systems, as well as review of design in timely manner and review of testing procedures to be handed-over to T&C manager. Support Lead Engineer in providing the overall input for progress and status report on monthly basis. Work with Lead Engineer to collect all data from PS&D for compliance matrix process and populate the relevant library. Provide technical support to QA/QC team for inspection during installation. Responsibilities Develop detailed design for PS&D system: cable routing drawing, cable and termination schedules, cable rating calculations, load schedule, protection coordination, equipment installation layout, earthing system. Produce CAD drawings Review client specifications and requirements Attend client meetings to present Bombardier solutions and designs Prepare test specification Attend factory and site testing Prepare technical requirements documents (TRDs) to specify the PS&D designs for PS&D sub-contractors. Review design proposals from PS&D subcontractors Manage the interface design between the PS&D sub-systems and other mechanical and electrical subsystems Resolve engineering issues between PS&D contractors and other sub-system contractors. Plan work activities with the PS&D contractors and develop safety conscience work plans in conjunction with the project schedule, the client requirements and BT design requirements. Qualifications You have a degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 5 years experience of electrical installation design. You are fluent in German and English. Another European or Middle Eastern language is desirable. Good knowledge of German and European electrical standards. Good knowledge of Autocad. Knowledge of other CAD and/or power system modelling software is desirable. High delivery focus with a positive attitude.
