Romanian Railway Company To Lay Off 5,600 People - 19/12/2009

Bucharest. In a time of a crisis the business of the Romanian railway company CFR Marfa reports a 60% drop, Romanian Ziare.com news website informs.

As a result the company will lay off some 5,600 people, with 130 of them occupying managing positions in the railway freight company.

Company officials say CFR Marfa is operating without money from the national budget and the balance between the expenditure and incomes is possible only through “drastic measures” of slashing expenses, which entails making many staff redundant.
